There is one God, eternally existing as Three Persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are distinct from one another and yet are of the same divine essence, co-equal in power, majesty, and glory, equally deserving of worship, reverence, praise, and honor.
This Triune God is an infinite, eternal, and unchangeable spirit. He is limitless and perfect in His knowledge, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth. He is completely and utterly great and good. He is full of majesty, glory, splendor, beauty, and radiance. He is the most perfect being that is.
This one true God created the universe and all things in it, to display His power, wisdom and goodness. He is the Maker and Ruler of all things. He made human beings and gave them the capability to see these displays of His glory and to respond with worship, finding fullness and happiness through knowing, enjoying, and having fellowship with Him. In the beginning of God’s creation, everything, including humanity, flourished under God’s loving rule.
However, in time, the man and the woman that God created to know and enjoy Him, turned away from Him in rebellion and disobedience. They sinned. Not only they, but each person has knowingly, intentionally done wrong things. We have not thanked, honored, or loved God as we ought, and we have sinned against other human beings as well. Humanity is now corrupted by sin and is very guilty before God. As a result, he is separated from the joyous and loving fellowship with God which he was originally created for, and now instead he is under God’s wrath and His just punishment for their sins. Scripture says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Everyone of us has sinned against God and committed many wicked and evil things that are an offense to a holy and good God. A curse of misery, pain, and death was also unleashed upon the universe for man’s sin.
Though all of humanity is now guilty before God and deservedly faces the just wrath and punishment of God in everlasting Hell, God is amazingly gracious, good, and merciful. In incredible love and grace, God foretold that through a coming Savior, He would provide a way to redeem fallen humanity from their sin, guilt, and misery, forgive, pardon, and cleanse them, adopt them, make them His children and heirs, lift off the curse from the universe, and bring His redeemed to a glorified state of infinite happiness and joy with Him forever.
Approximately 2,000 years ago, the Second Person of the Trinity, God the Son, became a man and was named Jesus of Nazareth, He grew up, taught, preached the gospel, and did many miracles of love and power to prove that He was God in human form, and the long-awaited Messiah and Savior of the world.
His main reason for coming was to die on the cross, where God placed the sins of everyone who would ever repent and believe on Him. He became their substitute, the ultimate atoning sacrifice for all of their sins. He took their sin and punishment upon Himself. He suffered agony of body and soul, bled, and died for their sins, undergoing their punishment and the wrath and curse of God for them, in their stead. He died, was buried in a tomb, but three days later rose again, proving that He was indeed God in human form and that His sacrifice to save man was accepted by God.
God promises that everyone who repents (turns back to God) and believes this good news, coming to Christ and calling upon Him as savior, will be cleansed of all their sins, forgiven, justified, accepted and adopted by God as His sons and daughters, and one day, will be glorified when Christ returns again to judge the living and the dead, and to set up His Kingdom. He will create a New Heavens and New Earth where He will reign with His people forever, a paradise and world of love for all time. Those who do not admit their sin before God, humbly repent and simply believe this good news, turning to Christ as their only Savior, remain in their sinful and guilty condition before God, are under God’s wrath, and will face His fierce judgment on the last day, and eternal punishment away from His grace, in Hell, a place of eternal fire, outer darkness, and misery.
No works of man can ever save us. Through the blood of Jesus Christ, salvation and redemption are gifts of God, freely given to any and all who ask for them. No religious ceremony or ritual that we do can appease God or save man. God has given salvation as a gift of love and grace to sinful men. Christ has done all of the work for us, if but we realize and admit our sin and our need, repentantly turn away from our sin and any attempts to save ourselves, and cast ourselves entirely on the mercy of Christ, believing in what He did on our behalf through His cross and resurrection, and calling on Him alone to save us- and He surely will!
The Holy Spirit works sovereignly in the lives of those He will redeem and uses this message and the word of God to bring a person to this point of conviction for sin, repentance, and faith in Christ, leading them to call out to Christ for salvation.
We believe that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in the work of Christ alone, to the glory of God alone, and that the Word of God alone is our final authority for all matters of faith and practice.
